Recently, Ukrainian Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Washington, DC to speak with President Biden about advanced the aid the US was providing to the Ukraine, and then went on to speak to a joint session of Congress. The arrangements for this were all kept highly secret until right before the trip was to be made.

During both his meeting with the President and his address to Congress Zelensky thanked them for their support of the Ukraine as it seeks to fight back against Vlad the Invader and his armies. During his joint address to Congress, he tried to frame Ukraineโ€™s cause as a bipartisan one, and that US money spent there was not charity but instead an investment in global security for our children and grandchildren.

Not surprisingly, both Russia and its apologists here in the United States had something to say. Russia complained that Zelensky made a โ€œfatal mistakeโ€ in visiting the United States and insinuated weโ€™ll only support him as long as its profitable. Meanwhile, Marjorie Taylor Greene and former guyโ€™s son Junior are trying to outdo each other to see who can make the dumbest remarks about the visit.

Junior called Zelensky a “welfare queen” โ€“ all while forgetting about his daddyโ€™s diverting taxpayer funding to daddyโ€™s pockets. The Lincoln Project called it the dumbest remark Junior ever made, which says something. It also advised Junior that he should โ€œsit this one outโ€ since daddy doesnโ€™t pay taxes. Meanwhile, Greene was whining about the amount of money spent on the Ukraine and was going on about how her constituents canโ€™t afford necessities. Like she ever gave two shits about her constituents before. Theyโ€™re just there to be used to beat people over the head with. The world would be better served if both shut the hell up for all eternity.
