We have receipts
James Comer has for months tried to find some connection between President Biden and foreign entities that gave money to the Biden family. Instead, the Democratic arm of his committee found links between the Trump family and various foreign entities while in the White House. To date, Comer and his lackies have found nothing on President Biden, but there’s plenty on Trump. Democrats released the evidence and are demanding an investigation with three words: “We have receipts.”
If House Democrats do indeed have receipts, they are way ahead of Comer and Jordan in their quest to find something on President Biden. According to the New York Times, Trump received almost $8 million from 20 foreign governments while “president,” with the bulk coming from China. The report-called “White House for Sale: How Princes, Prime Ministers, and Premiers Paid Off President Trump”-details two years of Trump accepting foreign money for four of his businesses. He received much more when you consider he was in office for four years and owns several foreign businesses, but Comer stopped Mazars from releasing information in 2023. This indicates that Comer knew about Trump, yet his focus for the last year has been trying to find something on President Biden. Comer is the epitome of a hypocrite. The money Trumped gained is one the reasons he wants back in. He would love to turn U.S. rule to authoritarianism, but the fattening of his pockets takes precedence.
The report prepared by House Democrats details the millions Trump made through his International Hotel in Washington, D.C.; Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas; Trump Tower in New York; and Trump World Tower, also in New York. The Constitution clearly prohibits federal officeholders from accepting “money, payments, or gifts of any kind whatever” from foreign government and monarchs without the consent of Congress, which consent Trump obviously never sought. Oh, that’s right: Trump claims that he never pledged to follow the Constitution. China not only made the largest payment ($5.5 million), but when Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Mar-a-Lago, Ivanka walked away with trademarks. As expected, Comer pushed back on Democrats.
NYT reported that Comer claimed that the Democrats are comparing apples and oranges. “Former President Trump has legitimate businesses, but the Bidens do not.” Which proves what? They still have not been able to find even a hint of wrongdoing on the part of President Biden. Comer further claimed that the Bidens “made more than three times as much as the new records show Mr. Trump … by cashing in on the Biden name. No goods or services were provided other than access to Joe Biden and the Biden network.” Where are their receipts? They have none because they have nothing.
Regardless of receipts, the Democrats will get no help from Republicans in investigating Donald Trump. MAGA Republicans want him back in office so that he can further violate the Constitution. They could care less about any wrongdoing done by Trump. Their past refusal to vote for impeachment despite evidence speaks volumes.
