The silence is a little too eerie

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is always quiet, except for when he’s occasionally very much not quiet, so it’s no surprise that he’s made no noise at all thus far this holiday weekend. Either he’ll bust proverbial heads before his self imposed deadline or he’ll extend it, and that’s just the way it goes with him. The weird part is the eerie silence from the other side of the fence.

Apart a brief and weird diatribe about an immigration deal with Mexico that apparently doesn’t even really exist, Donald Trump has said nothing thus far on Twitter today. Okay, so it’s a holiday weekend. But Ivanka Trump, who posts tweets on most but not all days, was also silent today. Donald Trump Jr, who usually tweets or retweets deranged conspiracy theories all day every day, has been silent for a day and a half. Eric Trump? Also silent, not that anyone cares.

What about Melania Trump? She rarely tweets anyway, so let’s check and… heh, she actually tweeted something today. So that’s weird. What’s going on here? Maybe nothing. Probably nothing. I don’t even know anymore. These Trump-Russia people are so very strange. Jerome Corsi announced yesterday afternoon that he was negotiating a plea deal with Robert Mueller, and then stayed up all night tweeting insults at Mueller. And then there’s Roger Stone’s Instagram page, which suggests that he’s in need of immediate psychiatric attention. Trump always picks the best people.

The bottom line is that, as we wait for certain unnamed big fish in the Trump-Russia scandal to get arrested within the next hours or days, things have just gotten weird – for everyone involved. It’s as if the Trump family has finally run out of BS to spew, and they’re just waiting for Mueller to finish them off, and the rest of us are creeped out by the eerie silence. At this point it’s roughly as good as any other explanation.
