Hawking Bibles and telling lies is Donald Trump’s latest career move. The “God Bless the USA Bible” is a joint venture between Trump and Lee Greenwood. Greenwood must eat somehow, and he has chosen to break bread (pun intended) with a lying criminal. That makes sense, right? They are selling the Bibles for $59.99. Taking to Truth Social to share the “good news,” Trump claimed the Bible is his “favorite book.” Trump has likely never read one passage in any Bible. Of course, virtually everyone has something to say about the man selling Bibles while facing multiple criminal charges. According to the Hill, Greenwood visited Newsmax to give his take on the negativity.

Greenwood told host Bianca de la Garza: “I think it’s just from the Trump haters. I don’t even believe people on the left hate religion. It’s just the Trump haters is all, and we’ve been promoting this Bible for over three years, so because the president has also asked the nation to pray and use that particular Bible.” The “three years” thing is a surprise, but he’s right about one thing: people on the left don’t hate religion, and we also don’t specifically hate Trump as much as we hate what he does. If Greenwood is too blind to see the irony in this situation, that’s on him. A man who lies at every turn, cheats on his wife, and steals a Christian is not. He should be selling ice cubes for where he’s going when his time comes. Liz Cheney had the best response: “Happy Holy Week, Donald. Instead of selling Bibles, you should probably buy one and read it, including Exodus 20:14. Thou shalt not commit adultery.” As Michael Steele said the other day, this is merely another grift from the king of grifters.

As of January 24, 2021, Washington Post reported that Trump made 30,573 false or misleading claims over 4 years. He hasn’t stopped. CNN recently reported that Trump “inflates inflation numbers.” To prove its point, CNN revealed that Trump claimed this month that the total inflation under President Biden has been more than double the reality. He exaggerated about food prices, oil prices, gas prices, and grocery prices in general. During his campaign rally in Georgia, he claimed that “we have a three-year inflation rate of almost 50%.” Later in March on CNBC, he claimed it was more than 50%. According to CNN and WaPo, the cumulative inflation from January 2021 through February 2024 was 18.6%. Trump doesn’t care. He makes it up as he goes along.

Any attempts by Donald Trump to denigrate the work President Biden has done will fall on deaf ears among swing voters. According to USA Today, real wages are growing at a faster pace than the spike in the cost of living since the pandemic. For the first time in decades, wage growth is consistently stronger in the middle and at the bottom than at the top. These are things to celebrate. Listening to Donald Trump will not change the facts.
