I’ve grumbled before about Iowa’s incompetent Branch Trumpvidian Governor Kim “#CovidKim” Reynolds. Because of her and her GQP allies as a 46.5-year-old man I felt I no longer had a home in Iowa and left for Minnesota. Because of her and her GQP allies LGBTQ individuals of all ages are no longer safe in Iowa. Because of her and her GQP allies Iowa’s government is hopefully inept and corrupt.

Case in point. CovidKim just cancelled a deal that she signed with Workday in 2019. While everyone across the political spectrum agreed Iowa’s 20-year-old computer systems needed an upgrade CovidKim completely fornicated it up. She signed a no-bid deal with Workday to upgrade the systems, despite the fact competitive bidding was required under Iowa law. However, her deal didn’t go as expected. Other government bodies have said their experiences were less than satisfactory and Iowa agencies expressed similar misgivings while performing testing.

Worse than that, #CovidKim tried to use the Covid-19 relief funds to pay for her corruption. I don’t know about anyone else, but this makes me fornicating sick. That money was meant to help people and small businesses affected by the pandemic, not line the pockets of the GQP and/or large corporations. Iowa had to return the funds but all that will still affect Iowa taxpayers. It’ll still be money from the public that will be used to pay for #CovidKim’s corruption.

It looks like now Iowa’s current vendor CGI will modernize the state’s computer system with a cloud-based system. (Full disclosure: I am a former CGI employee). But all this corrupt s—t CovidKim did never should have been allowed to happen and as far as I know isn’t happening in the Governor Timothy Walz (DFL-Minnesota) administration in Minnesota.
