Donald Trump has managed to find yet another way to drag America to a new low. He treasonously conspired with the Russian government to rig the election in his favor. He’s routinely tried to obstruct justice as the resulting criminal investigation closes in on him. He’s been using the office to steer money into his own pocket. He has thousands of immigrant kids locked inside cages in concentration camps. Now, just to add insult to injury, he’s found a way to mar Independence Day.

Trump invited a number of unidentified guests to join him on the White House south lawn for Fourth of July celebrations. So how did these guests behave themselves? According to a White House press pool report, Trump’s guests started yelling “fake news” at the pool reporters, while laughing at them. And the show has reached a new low.

This comes just a few days after a Trump supporter shot and killed several newspaper reporters in Annapolis, Maryland. Donald Trump’s calls for violence in general, and his ongoing scapegoating of reporters in particular, are being widely blamed for contributing to the environment that led to the shooting. Yet instead of even briefly reeling it in, Trump’s personal guests spent Independence Day at the White House, heckling reporters to their faces.

This comes just one day after Donald Trump launched a vicious attack on Twitter against the Washington Post without a valid reason, accusing the newspaper of being a “disgrace to journalism.” Well, he initially accused them of being a “discgrace to journalism,” whatever that might be. Now he has his goons out on the White House lawn, harassing the media.
