Shouty Donald Trump Jr., son of the twice-impeached murderer whose last official act as one-term president of the United States was an attempted coup, is all het up about Alec Baldwin. He’s outraged that anyone in the press would give Baldwin the benefit of the doubt. He thinks Baldwin should be crucified in the press for accidentally killing his director of photography. Junior’s final verdict on the tragedy is unsurprisingly peevish. “Spare me your fake sanctimony,” says he.

No one yet knows exactly what happened on the set last week when the tragedy occurred, but it’s fairly clear that it was about human stupidity, not malice. It’s clear it was an accident. It’s clear that this is a time to find out what happened, not point angry fingers. No one is qualified to assign blame, least of all the hectoring, self-righteous layabout Donald Trump Jr. Maybe he wants us to spare him his sanctimony because he wants all the sanctimony for himself?

Where was Junior’s outrage when his father presided over the four worst mass shootings in history? We found out rather quickly, for example, who was at fault when a white kid murdered 17 students at Stoneman Douglas High School. We had no trouble identifying the white supremacist murderer who killed at least 22 people at a Walmart. When a 54-year-old white man opened fire on a concert from the 32nd floor of a hotel in Las Vegas killing 58 people we knew right away who to blame. Where was Donald Junior’s mealy-mouthed outrage when a white shooter opened fire on a small church in Sutherland Springs claiming 25 lives and an unborn child?

I don’t remember Junior getting particularly upset about all those innocent dead. Funny how suddenly angry he is at Baldwin. Could the reason possibly be that Alec Baldwin spoofed Junior’s father on Saturday Night Live and Junior only cares about that? Could it be that Junior doesn’t really give a crap about the accidental death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins? Yes, not to put too fine a point on it.

I don’t know about you but I’m tired of sanctimonious Republican cretins using words like “sanctimony.” They are permanently disqualified from making such pronouncements by hypocrisy and irony. Junior needs to shut up and let the adults in the room do the talking. He’s the son of a man who incompetently presided over the deaths of nearly 700,000 Americans from coronavirus.

As for “fake sanctimony,” Donald Trump Junior can spare me his. It’s time for Twitter to pull the plug on Junior’s Twitter account. I’m all for cancelling his complete absence of culture. And, as ever, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
