Donald Trump’s Post Office gambit just took a major blow

Donald Trump was never going to be able to use the Post Office to just magically rig the election for himself; nothing in politics or elections is ever that simplistic. But Trump and his stooge Louis DeJoy have certainly been hoping to sabotage the Post Office in a way that might tilt the election at least slightly in their favor. Let’s just say that plan is falling apart already.

For the second time in the past week, a Federal Judge has ruled that the Post Office must prioritize the delivery of mail-in ballots. This is a big deal, because a large piece of Trump’s scheme centered around reclassifying ballots as bulk mail so that they would be delivered more slowly and perhaps not arrive in time.

Notably, the judge in this ruling is vowing to take enforcement steps against the Post Office if he doesn’t see the changes being implemented by this Friday. The courts have broad enforcement powers, and this particular judge seems to be unafraid of using it if necessary.
