Looks like Rudy Giuliani is aiming for one last big overseas payday before Robert Mueller gets him

In the ten days since the Department of Justice Inspector General essentially confirmed that Rudy Giuliani is under ongoing criminal investigation, Rudy has suddenly gone silent about the Trump-Russia scandal. As Palmer Report explained yesterday, now that Rudy knows heโs under active investigation, heโd be facing obstruction of justice charges if he were to continue to use his mouth to try to sabotage the investigation. Now Rudy has in fact surfaced again, but this time overseas.
Rudy Giuliani has now been photographed meeting with the leadership of Iranโs controversial National Council of Resistance, which seeks to overthrow the current regime. There are widely differing views when it comes to the group; some call it a pro democracy movement, while others call it a deranged cult. Either way, itโs inconceivable that someone like Giuliani would meet with them unless heโs acting in some sort of paid consultant role. Weโve seen this before.
Back when Special Counsel Robert Muellerโs team first informed Paul Manafort that he was going to be indicted and arrested if he didnโt cut a plea deal, Manafort responded by taking a high paying consulting gig with the Kurdistan independence movement. It wasnโt difficult to figure out that Manafort was looking to cash in on one last big overseas payday to help fund his legal defense.
Now that Rudy Giuliani has learned heโs indeed under criminal investigation, he appears to be taking a page out of Manafortโs playbook. To be clear, while we donโt have confirmation that the National Council of Resistance is paying Giuliani for his services, the group has an infamous history of paying large sums of money to American politicians. The AP reports that the group paid Donald Trumpโs Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao $50,000 to give a five minute speech.
