Kevin McCarthy likely still doesn’t get why it took 15 times for him to win the speakership. A strong lack of confidence exists when it comes to McCarthy. Several Republicans voiced their concerns about McCarthy’s abilities as a leader, and he showed that by caving to virtually every demand put before him. He wanted the speakership that badly. Instead of leading, he has set up the House to be a groundswell of chaos. Andrew Romano of Yahoo! News wrote that “The United States could be on the cusp of its most dysfunctional Congress ever.” You think?

He allowed the far-right wing of the party to twist him about their collective finger, showing just how badly he wanted this job. Because McCarthy decided to bend to the will of a few, this trend will continue for him. He is too giddy on his assumed power to see what’s ahead of him or for the country for that matter. As they all duke it out, they will get little, or nothing done. Not to mention that their focus is, once again, not on the American people but on revenge.

Jim Jordan and his crew are salivating over the opportunity to stick it to the FBI and the DOJ, all because they had the gall to go after Donald Trump, who is a criminal and needed going after. Former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner, as quoted by Newsweek, thinks Jordan is heading for “a smackdown” from federal judges if he tries to stick his nose in any federal investigations surrounding the January 6 insurrection. Kirschner calls Jordan and company the “Republican clown show,” and that’s an accurate description. They are trying to get access to House Intelligence Committee materials, which, as Kirschner points out, is merely Jordan trying to get inside of the DOJ investigations about “the insurrection, witness tampering, conspiracy, and classified documents crimes.” In other words, Jordan hopes to stop investigations into Donald Trump. The way the men go on about Donald Trump is ridiculous. Trump You best believe Trump wouldn’t go to the mat for any of them. Plus, he’s a crook, which means they must be crooks as well. Why else try to interfere in criminal investigations? Jordan, McCarthy, and the rest of their party are nothing but a bunch of losers. McCarthy went so far as to make concessions to the far-right members that show just how weak he will be as a leader.

According to Mother Jones, McCarthy made the following key concessions: Any member can call for a motion to vacate the speaker’s chair, capping discretionary spending-which creates cuts to both defense and domestic programs, the creation of a committee to investigate “weaponization” of the federal government, restore the Holman rule, and give Freedom Caucus members greater representation on committees. McCarthy basically bowed (or bent over, as the case may be) for this job. Hopefully, it will be worth it to him, and he should hope that none of the members call to vacate the chair, as he will be in trouble.
