Yep, Donald Trump really is going to prison

I’ve been saying for awhile that Donald Trump is going to prison, and while most of you here have understood where I’m coming from, some folks out there have mocked me for it or insisted it’ll never happen. But if Joe Biden wins and picks his new endorser Kamala Harris for Attorney General, you’d better believe she’ll put Trump away for his crimes.

If Biden picks Kamala Harris as his running mate, or if she decides she doesn’t want to leave the Senate, we’re still looking at same scenario. In such case Biden would pick someone like Adam Schiff, Amy Klobuchar, or Preet Bharara as Attorney General, and they’ll put Trump away just as surely.

Trump can try to pardon himself on his way out the door. But he’d have to list off his specific crimes, and would be formally confessing to them by accepting his own pardon, which would create other legal problems for him. The courts could end up throwing out such a pardon anyway. And Trump has committed so many kinds of crimes, a savvy prosecutor like Kamala would find something to nail him on that he failed to pardon himself for.

New York State also has a grand jury targeting Trump for indictment on state charges, as proven by the subpoenas it’s sent for his financial records. Grand juries typically operate in secret, but because Trump is challenging the subpoenas in court, the existence of the grand jury is now a matter of public record.

Donald Trump is going to prison. Federal and state prosecutors will be fighting over who gets to put him there first. All we have to do is work hard and make sure Donald Trump loses and Joe Biden wins, so he can pick the right Attorney General and get this process going.
