Donald Trump said so many stupid, incoherent, embarrassing, and self incriminating things during his interview with Fox & Friends on Thursday morning, Fox ended up having to basically kick him off the air for his own good. Somewhere in amongst his confession that Michael Cohen isn’t really his attorney, and his confession that he spent the night in Moscow during the Pee Pee Tape timeframe, Trump also did new damage to his failing marriage.

Earlier this week, Us Magazine reported that Melania Trump told Vanessa Trump she might as well go ahead and divorce Donald Trump Jr because he’s every bit as “vain” as his father. Maybe in response to this story, or maybe because he was just in a mood to say stupid things, but Donald Trump decided to start talking about how he didn’t bother to get Melania a present for her birthday today.

Here’s what Donald Trump said on-air during Fox & Friends: “Maybe I didn’t get her so much. I got her a beautiful card, you know I’m very busy to be running out looking for presents. I got her a beautiful card and some beautiful flowers.” So he’s flat out admitting that he couldn’t be bothered to find the time to pick out a real present for her, and he couldn’t even be bothered to have one of his numerous White House staffers run out and pick up a gift for her.

At least he got her flowers and a card. But come on. What kind of idiot goes on live national television and announces that he’s too busy to get his wife a birthday present? Was he trying to make things even worse between him and Melania Trump? This is going downhill fast.
