Political pundits have said that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is treating the investigation into Donald Trump and those in his inner circle similar to a mafia family takedown. As Palmer Report has previously reported, there are many similarities between how Mueller went about his take down of John Gotti and the Gambino crime family in the 1990s to what is currently happening in regards to Trump and his criminal enterprise. Trump’s tweet today about America’s bid to host the 2026 World Cup even came off as a mafia threat, saying “it would be a shame if countries we support were to lobby against the U.S. bid.” He’s basically tweeting a threat that America would intentionally do something to hurt Morocco if they win the bid.

While Trump recently made the ludicrous statement that his long time personal lawyer and “fixer” Michael Cohen actually did very little legal work for him, the documents and electronic devices taken in the FBI raid on Cohen’s house, office, and hotel room will tell a different story. One possible reason for Trump attempting to put further distance between himself and the attorney who told personal friends he thought Trump would make him his Chief of Staff in the White House would be that Trump knew there was a story about to come out by the Wall Street Journal in which Cohen bragged that he was a part of the Russian mob..

There are clearly many reasons for why Donald Trump would like to minimize his association with Michael Cohen, including the Stormy Daniels hush money payoff and the fact that Cohen is under investigation by Mueller and the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. However, Trump is extremely frightened of being linked to anyone with Russian ties, despite there being decades of proof of many connections.

While Donald Trump can scream “no collusion” on Fox & Friends, the facts continue to come out and Mueller will likely be talking to Michael Cohen about his Russian mafia claim in the near future.
