What is it about Trumps and charities?
There are some things so absurdly evil that only crude language will do. For that I turn to the master (and I mean this sincerely), Jeff Tiedrich. On Saturday Mr. Tiedrich tweeted:
hold on, are you telling me that the garbage family that stole money raised for children with cancer is the same garbage family that stole money from a dog rescue charity? holy f*****g s**t, I did Nazi that coming. also, these people are garbage
You heard that right, Trumps steal from children with cancer and puppy dogs. And not only puppy dogs but rescue puppy dogs. It seems that a dog rescue charity that has links to Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of twice impeached, twice defeated of the popular vote, one-term loser ex-president Donald Trump, has spent almost $2 million at Trump properties in the last seven years, according to media reports.
It is evil like this that Trump and his family do every day that really puts them head and shoulders above average political corruption. Nothing seems to ever be low enough for them, nothing is sacred, including children with cancer and puppy dogs. Yes, they will steal from and profit off of them too. Money, after all, is money.
Most companies and groups have distanced themselves from Trump since he led a murderous insurrection on the nation’s Capitol Building January 6th. But not Big Dog Ranch Rescue, a Florida-based charity. According to HuffPost (now the official name of “The Huffington Post” since 2017), they filed a permit with Palm Beach where they are expected to spend another $225,000 at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago country club for an event this weekend.
HuffPost says that the Internal Revenue Service filings reveal that Lara Trump’s charity has spent as much as $1,883,160 on fundraising costs for events at Mar-a-Lago and a nearby Trump golf course since 2014. Lara Trump is married to Moron Number Two, Eric Trump.
Former Guy himself informally spoke to the charity event in order to endorse the idea of his daughter-in-law running for the Senate in 2022. “I didn’t exactly prepare for this, but I was walking by, and I heard everybody screaming,” Trump said. “I want to thank Lara who has been so incredible — and I dunno, are you running for the Senate? I hear she’s going to run for the Senate.” That’s how easy it is in Trump World. You just decide to run for the Senate.
Lauren Simmons, president and founder of Big Dog Ranch Rescue, is an ardent Trump supporter, and posted many comments on social media in support of the “Stop the Steal” Big Lie, Former Guy’s baseless conspiracy theory that the 2020 election was stolen. It was not, of course. President Joe Biden won easily by a near landslide.
Meanwhile Republicans, the party of “family values,” are too embroiled in the cancel culture nontroversy to notice this comic book villainy. Everything is okay with them as long as Donald Trump is doing it, or members of his family. And, as ever, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
