Donald Trump refused to cancel his political rally in Wisconsin tonight, even after a bomber attempted to assassinate the Obamas, the Clintons, Eric Holder, Maxine Waters, and several other Democrats who have been on the receiving end of Trump’s false associations and lies. Trump’s supporters at that rally revealed their true colors by chanting “Lock her up” before it even began. Trump then delivered a speech which was, to put it bluntly, vomit-worthy.
Donald Trump used his rally speech to condemn liberals who have protested against Republican politicians at restaurants, insisting that “we should not mob people in public spaces.” He didn’t bother to specifically say what he feels about his own supporters trying to assassinate Democratic politicians. And even after Trump’s rhetoric resulted in a bomb being sent to the CNN building in New York City today, Trump decided to try to make it the media’s fault, saying “The media also has a responsibility to set a civil tone and to stop the endless hostility and constant negative and oftentimes false attacks and stories.”
So that’s right, this is the fault of everyone but Donald Trump. Back in the real world, Trump might as well have mailed those bombs himself, because the bomber was treating his violent rhetoric and incendiary lies like an instruction manual. But in Trump’s fantasy land, he’s somehow the victim here. America will be much safer when he’s in prison for his very real crimes.∫
