This is just pathetic

The Kyle Rittenhouse trial is pathetic. It is perhaps not surprising that the right has weaponized this case, just like they weaponize everything these days. I watch in amazement as scores of people attempt to elevate this kid to mythical and cult-like status.

We have always had the romanticizing of lawlessness by some people. Just look at Charles Manson. Look at the marriage proposals that Scott Peterson received and, for all I know, is still receiving in prison.

But this was largely a small segment of the population and most certainly nothing like what we see happening now. We have an obviously biased Judge. We have pundits declaring this kid a hero. Lost in all the chaos is the fact that two people were killed and one person hurt because of this kid.

And that fact largely does not seem to matter to these online judges. But I say:what about the victims? And yes, I will call them that because THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE, although the Judge might see it differently in all this.

Their names have been dragged through the mud. They have have been labeled and do not have the ability to answer. I think of the Salem Witch Trials. Do you? Do you not see the incredible DANGER in all this? Do you see the drooling of the sycophants just waiting for a “not guilty” verdict?

And they may get their wish. The Judge is, in my opinion, doing just about everything he can possibly do to make it so.

And Kyle himself? I feel little sympathy. Did you listen when he was on the stand? Did you see one iota of sorrow? Of regret? Of ANYTHING? Because I didn’t. Every other word out of this kid’s carefully coached mouth implied how awful the victims are. Those awful people who hero Kyle had to shoot. All in the name of vigilante justice.

I hope things do not turn out the way I fear they might. I hope earnestly for justice. Because if we do not get it and the GOP continues on the way they have? Look for GOP Congressman Rittenhouse one day, not all that far off.
