The cult of Donald Trump
A close friend of mine is a psychologist. His job is to help people. And some of the people he’s helped through the years are former cult members. I don’t know friends and readers, how many people, if any, you’ve known who have been or are cult members. I CAN tell you that freeing oneself from a cult is one of the most difficult things in the world to do. And these days, there are more cults than ever before. It’s suspected that there are over 4,000 cults in the United States.
Being a member of a cult must be truly horrifying. Of course, many members aren’t horrified because they do not know they’re even in one. But the people who manage to break free are to be commended. It isn’t easy, you know. Many cults turn ugly once a member wants to leave. Many cults try to get the person back through various means.
Some of those means include harassment. Sometimes they’ll spread lies about the escaped cult member. They will do everything humanly possible to subjucate the escapee to their own will. And it isn’t just the leader. Many times, other cult members help out their beloved leader in destroying the escapee.
And one of those cults, in my opinion, is the most insidious cult in the world currently.
It is the cult of Donald Trump. When one thinks about it, the words I wrote above perfectly apply to every aspect of the trump cult. The members work together as one seeking to please the leader, who then gives out positive validation, making these cult members flush with happiness. And if one goes AGAINST this cult?
Well — in reality, there ARE very few who have managed to break free. Michael Cohen is perhaps the greatest example of a person who completely freed himself from the insidious murmurings of the cult of Trump. And what did they do to Cohen? They put him in jail!
The Trump cult will burn itself out sooner or later. This is how things go with cults. There is going to come a point when the cult leader is no longer effective. That is not happening now. Just Look what they did to Adam Schiff! They chose to censure him for holding Donald Trump to account.
And let’s look at another example. Rep. Elise Stefanik is desperately trying to get Donald Trump’s two impeachments expunged from the Congressional Record. Marjorie Taylor Greene is helping with this.
And, of course, we saw Lauren Boebert humiliated the other day, with the pretend impeachment. That’s the thing about cults, though. Many members humiliate themselves regularly. They don’t care how they look to ANYONE else — but the cult leader.
And that’s the most crucial reason Republicans must lose every election as we go forward. We cannot have a cult leading this country. We cannot have people who live in servitude to a monster making life-or-death decisions. It is that simple.
