When Democratic candidate Adam Frisch came within about 500 votes of defeating House Republican Lauren Boebert in 2022, it raised a lot of eyebrows. After all, that House district leans seven points in the Republicans’ favor – and when a district leans that far in either direction, it almost never goes the other way.

Frisch is now officially running against Boebert again in the 2024 race. The question was whether 2022 was the real deal and Frisch really can compete with Boebert again, or if 2022 was just a one-time fluke where Boebert just happened to be more unpopular than usual. But now we’re getting our answer.

The first major poll in the Frisch-Boebert 2024 rematch, the Mountaineer Poll, has two of them tied at 45% apiece. You always want to see more than one poll before making any presumptions about precisely where a race is. But this one poll alone proves that Frisch can absolutely compete again in this district. The poll has a four point margin of error. But that means Frisch could be ahead by four points just as easily as Boebert could be ahead by four points. Other polls in this race are likely to end up showing something in that same range, meaning it’ll be competitive one way or the other.

The bottom line is that Frisch-Boebert is likely to be a very tight race in 2024. It’ll be decided by the side that puts in the most work. That means you.
