Earlier today, Palmer Report wrote that Melania Trump’s rollout of her “Be Best” campaign couldn’t have gone much worse. Many people mocked the bizarre and grammatically challenged name, while many others pointed out that her call for social media decency was hypocritical in the face of her husband’s behavior on Twitter. Guess what? Things have in fact found a way to get even worse for Melania’s “Be Best” rollout.

We all recall Melania Trump’s Republican National Convention speech having plagiarized portions of an old speech given by Michelle Obama. The Trump team then blamed the plagiarism on a woman named Meredith McIver, whom literally no one has ever seen or met before or since, and who may or may not exist. We’re wondering if “Meredith” is about to get blamed yet again, because it turns out Melania just got caught stealing material from the Obamas again.

We’re not even talking about the fact that Michelle Obama had “Be Better” and now Melania Trump has “Be Best.” That’s bad enough. The real trouble here is that Melania simply stole most of the material for her Be Best campaign from sold pamphlets that the Obama White House had created in 2014. BuzzFeed caught Melania in the act. This came after the Trump White House strangely made a point of insisting that Melania wrote it herself. So now we’re looking at what basically amounts to Melania Trump even more thoroughly plagiarizing the Obamas.

It’s difficult to say to what extent this is being done on purpose, and to what extent it’s mere incompetence. In any case, this just keeps finding ways to get more ridiculous. If Michelle Obama had ever been caught plagiarizing anything from the Bush White House, there would have been immediate calls for President Obama to resign. But Donald Trump is so overwhelmingly scandal ridden, we doubt Melania Trump’s latest theft from Obamas is going to be a story for more than a day or two.
