Jean. Such a beautiful name. Such meaning behind it. “Jean” means “God is gracious”. And no matter what your spiritual beliefs are, I think we can all agree that some names just resonate. Jean resonates.

Jean was the name given to my personal hero — my mother, from whom I inherited my love of reading. My Jean was a warrior. She was a whistle-blower, a healer, and an inspiration for women everywhere.

“Jean.” Just one word but so clear the word is, such strength behind it. Jean is the name of many a strong woman. Jean is the name of E. Jean Carroll. Carroll is a fighter. As befitting her mighty name, Carroll has been fighting Donald Trump for years now. And nothing has broken her. And nothing will.

Unbroken spirits are a beautiful thing to see. And that is what E. Jean is. As her trial got started, the accused — Donald John Trump, was nowhere to be seen. He did not show up, you see. Could he be scared? Could he be afraid to face the lovely, regal woman who dared to stand up to him? I think so.

Carroll has never wavered. She says Donald Trump raped her in the dressing room of the Bergdorf Goodman department store. I believe her. I think you do as well. And unlike Donald Trump, who hid like the coward he is, E. Jean was there.

She was in the courtroom as the Jury selection got underway. E. Jean Carroll showed up because she knows she has nothing to hide. She is righteous, and she has the support of millions. How wonderful that finally the day is upon us, and she now gets to have her day in court.

And the madman? The accused? He hides. Donald Trump and the Jeans of the world do not mix. Powerful and strong women scare him. They unnerve him because he doesn’t know what to do with them or how to relate to them. They frighten him. They unmoore him.

But the civil trial has started. And Jean is there. And even as we turn away in disgust at Trump, we salute and honor E. JEAN. — this spirited, vibrant, dazzling Jean who is well acquainted with strength and fortitude.
