It’s not that Donald Trump has ever really made an effort to hide the fact that he’s a puppet of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. But with everything going wrong for him and his presidency in danger of slipping away from him, Trump is being more blatant about it than ever, as desperate people tend to be.

This morning Trump posted this tweet: “Just spoke to my friend MBS (Crown Prince) of Saudi Arabia, who spoke with President Putin of Russia, & I expect & hope that they will be cutting back approximately 10 Million Barrels, and maybe substantially more which, if it happens, will be GREAT for the oil & gas industry!”

Well isn’t that special. It’s truly heartwarming to know that Donald Trump still considers his friendship with MBS to be intact, even after MBS had American newspaper journalist Jamal Khashoggi murdered. And of course we’ve lost count of how many people Trump’s pal Putin has murdered. Then again, with Trump now murdering Americans in soul crushing numbers during this pandemic, it’s morbidly fitting.

We know what Donald Trump is trying to do here. He thinks if he can beg his puppet masters into cutting back on oil production, oil prices will go up, and it might keep the stock market from falling further. And knowing Trump, it’s probably more sinister than that. In any case it’s surreal to see Trump posting a tweet like this, aligning himself even further with Putin, at a time when his presidency is hanging on by a thread.
