Well, it’s time once again to release that kraken-thingy, or whatever it is. It turns out that the far right activist and congressional candidate Laura Loomer says the election was stolen. Only this time she’s not talking about Trump 2020, she’s talking about her very own election. And she’s not talking about losing to a Democrat, either.

The hapless Congressional Republican candidate for Florida’s 11th district broke into tears as she claimed — entirely without evidence — that she was illegally robbed of her alleged Republican primary victory on Tuesday. Better get the MyPillow guy on speed dial.

Actually, incumbent Representative Daniel Webster (no relation) won fair and square, according to the Associated Press. Despite the fact that Webster won the race with 51 percent of the vote to Loomer’s 44 percent and more than 95 percent of the ballots counted, Loomer refused to concede, instead insisting that the result was fraudulent. Better call Rudy.

“I’m not conceding, because I’m a winner and the reality is our Republican Party is broken to its core,” Loomer whined to supporters in a speech following her loss. “What we have done tonight has really honestly shocked the nation.” Yes, she really said that. She went on to whimper, “We have further exposed the corruption within our own feckless, cowardly Republican Party.” I, for one, couldn’t be happier. It couldn’t have happened to a nicer party.

“We are losing our country to big-tech election interference,” Loomer blubbered as tears streamed down her face. “And I am pleading with the Republican Party to please start taking this issue seriously, because the American people deserve representation.”

In other words, the any-time-we-lose-it’s-fraud narrative has taken another, inevitable, giant step forward. It’s now a game any narcissist can play, and they can now play it in primaries as well as generals, and since the Republican Party is composed mostly of narcissists, we’re going to see a lot of playing.

Loomer, who described Webster as a “RINO Republican” and “do-nothing Daniel Webster” in classic Trumpian invective, is a self-described “proud Islamophobe” and white nationalist who backed Donald Trump’s false claims of a “stolen” 2020 presidential election. She tried once before to become Florida’s answer to Marjorie Taylor Greene in another district, lost there, and came to the 11th to try her hand again. This latest failure was too much for her ego, so her ego decided she won anyway.

Like her hero Trump, Loomer has been permanently banned from mainstream social media platforms including Twitter and Facebook for violating rules against spreading false information and hate, although she continues to maintain an account on Trump’s Truth Social platform.

So behold the new bed that Republicans have made to lie in. And yes, that’s what I would refer to as a small play on words. I, for one, am delighted. I love to see evil people hoist on their own petards. There’s a fitting justice to it that is simply too delightful. And, as ever, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
