Even as Donald Trump awaits criminal trial in Georgia and on the federal level for his efforts to overthrow the 2020 election, we’ve been waiting to see where else he might end up indicted. After all, he tried to overthrow the election results in various states.

The trick is that the laws are different in each state (Georgia has far stronger RICO laws than most states), and that the evidence of Trump’s direct involvement is different in each state. For instance there’s a smoking gun recording of a phone call in Georgia. Now it turns out there’s one in Michigan as well.

The Detroit News has obtained a recording of Donald Trump and RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel illegally pressuring two canvassers in Wayne County, Michigan into not certifying the 2020 election results. The two canvassers initially went along with that effort, but then changed their minds.

The big question here is why someone is choosing now to tip off the media about this recording. Have Michigan prosecutors had it all along? Are they now giving it to local media in order to prepare the public for Trump’s imminent indictment?

Even if this recording didn’t come from prosecutors, let’s just say that they have access to it now. So if Trump wasn’t on track to be indicted in Michigan, he probably is now. It’s also very possible that Ronna McDaniel could end up indicted as well. Michigan has already indicted its fake electors, but this could all just be getting started.
