Looks like Donald Trump is about to owe a lot more money to E. Jean Carroll

After a trial jury ordered Donald Trump to pay $83.3 million in damages to E. Jean Carroll, we all knew that Trump would be tempted to keep verbally attacking her. When Carroll was asked about the matter in a TV interview, she suggested that she’ll go after him again in court if he does keep up the attacks.

For quite some time now Trump has remained silent about Carroll, even while ranting about everyone else under the sun. But now that Trump has lost everything in a New York civil fraud verdict, he’s resumed attacking Carroll.

Today Trump attacked Carroll during a speech and, crucially, claimed that he has no idea who she is. This is precisely the kind of thing that Carroll nailed Trump for in the first place. In response to her claim (validated by the previous trial) that he raped her, he keeps claiming that he’s never even met her.

This kicks the door wide open for E. Jean Carroll to take Donald Trump back to court. If she does, she’ll very likely end up with yet another massive verdict against him. These kinds of penalties tend to go up for repeat offenses, not down. What Carroll decides to do is up to her. But if she wants another victory against Trump, he just handed one to her.
