Last night was a clean sweep for the Democrats

When you go into any election night, there are the races that are already set to go a certain way based on demographics and such, and then there are the races that are actually up for grabs. It’s those races that could go either way that tell you what the temperature of the nation is. Last night we got a resounding answer on that front.

Going in, we knew what the competitive races were: Governor of Kentucky, the Virginia legislature, and the Ohio referendum on abortion rights. The Democrats ended up winning all of the above, much of it in resounding fashion. The Ohio referendum passed by double digits. The Democrats not only kept the Virginia State Senate, but also flipped the Virginia House of Delegates. And the Democrats won the Kentucky race for Governor by five points in a red state.

In other words, the 2023 election cycle just told us that the Democrats are on track to win in 2024. If the 2024 election were held tomorrow, President Biden would be reelected by five points, the Democrats would take the House majority by five seats, and the Democrats would keep a very narrow Senate majority. Last night made that very clear.

The 2024 election is not tomorrow, and we have a lot of time and distance and work to go. If we don’t put in the work during the 2024 election cycle, we won’t win a damn thing. But last night was great confirmation that we are on track to win, as long as we do put in the work. You can take the handful of polls that claim Biden is on track to lose in 2024 and line your birdcage with them. Last night proved that those polls are total crap. More importantly, it proved that the media’s ongoing doomsday hysteria about 2024 is a bunch of ratings driven nonsense and nothing more. In 2020, 2022, and now 2023, we’ve seen that we’re in the kind of position where if we put in the work, we win. Now let’s go do some more winning.
