Katie Porter saved lives today
With Donald Trump now reduced to a sickly heap of braindead slobber, Americans are desperate for leadership in this coronavirus crisis. Joe Biden is showing what Americans can hope for out of our next President. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is working around Trump to negotiate emergency measures with the Treasury Department. But we need all hands on deck.
That brings us to Democratic Congresswoman Katie Porter, who has only been in the House for a brief time, but has already shown herself to be one of the brightest people in American politics. Today she used her position to force a Trump official to change U.S. policy on the spot with regard to coronavirus testing:

MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell asserted on-air tonight that Katie Porter’s actions saved lives today. He’s absolutely right. At at time when we’re seeing the worst of government out of Donald Trump and his complicit Republicans, we’re seeing the best of government today out of Katie Porter and others like her.
