John Eastman just threw himself under the bus
Fulton County DA Fani Willis has a slam dunk case against Donald Trump and his co-conspirators, just based on the evidence and testimony she’s amassed. But she also has something else going for her: these people are all idiots who think they’re geniuses. They just keep saying and doing stupid things that are only going to make it easier to convict them.
The latest idiot to step to the plate is John Eastman, who seems to think this is all still one big cable news segment. He went on Fox News and admitted that he was trying to push then-VP Mike Pence into delaying certification of the 2020 election. We already knew that, of course. But by going on TV and admitting it, Eastman is making it a lot harder to mount any sort of reasonable doubt defense at trial.
While Fani Willis has already indicted John Eastman and his pals, Jack Smith has also listed Eastman as one of six Trump co-conspirators who appear to be on track for indictment. The fake parody version of Jack Smith on Twitter responded to the news by saying “Sometimes I worry they will convict themselves before I can get to them.”
