By the latter stages of Barack Obama’s presidency, the United States and its allies had pummeled ISIS into submission. If Obama had remained in office longer, it’s fair to conclude that ISIS would have been wiped out entirely. Unfortunately, the guy who took over for Obama has no idea what he’s doing and no interest in listening to his military leaders.

Donald Trump promised during the 2016 election that if he became president, he’d wipe out ISIS almost immediately – but he refused to say how he would magically accomplish this, and some naive folks out there were actually gullible enough to believe the clown. Since taking office, Trump has declared on multiple occasions that ISIS has indeed been wiped out entirely.

Two and a half years into the most disastrous failed experiment in the modern history of democracy, it turns out ISIS is now growing in power, according to a new report from the Pentagon inspector general. That doesn’t mean ISIS is big enough to resume its high profile international terrorist attacks. But it does mean that Trump has found a way to blow it yet again.

Then again, it shouldn’t be shocking that Donald Trump has blown it on the military and national security front. Just this week, he was caught tweeting smack talk about somebody’s grandma while he was in the middle of a briefing on the Afghanistan war. Yet this is the clown who lectures other people about how they’re supposedly disrespecting the military by protesting during the National Anthem.
