Donald Trump who has spent most of his illegitimate presidency on vacation, is finally going on a vacation for the first time in awhile. But instead of going to one of his own properties (yes there are a few that are still open during the pandemic), he’s notably heading to Camp David – a place he’s long said he hates. Moreover, he’s taking his closest House Republican allies with him.

Trump hates Camp David, and he hates doing work even more. Yet he’s heading to Camp David and hunkering down for some political work. It’s not difficult to figure out what’s going on here. Trump is behind in every swing state. He’s not currently even in contention for the 2020 election. His mishandling of the pandemic and the economy are only going to get uglier for him. And the fake scandals he’s been promoting are so absurd, they’re not getting him anywhere.

Donald Trump is now at a dead end. He seems to know it, based on recent media leaks about how angry and agitated he’s become over his sinking prospects. Even if Trump is trying to slip back into the delusion that he’s doing just fine, his GOP allies certainly know Trump is at a dead end, and they’re certainly going to use this Camp David meeting to tell him as much.

If Donald Trump were clever or even rational, he’d emerge from this Camp David meeting with an entirely new approach. He’d finally start acting like a real President and a respectable human being. He’d try to do something he’s never tried before in his life, which is to be honest and forthright. But Trump isn’t going to do that. He’s 100% sociopath and 50% senile, so he’s not capable of becoming someone better than he currently is. Trump’s endgame is going to be to keep doing the same ineffective nonsense he’s done all along, and hope he somehow gets lucky.
