Even some of Donald Trump’s biggest apologists now admit he’s getting indicted

“Trump will be indicted,” says the headline from a major news outlet tonight. It’s just a prediction, but given the mounting circumstances, it’s almost certainly an accurate one. The kicker is that it’s not just the media admitting Trump is going to be indicted; one of his biggest apologists is now admitting it as well.

We still have no idea why former liberal and formerly esteemed legal mind Alan Dershowitz has transformed into a cartoonishly pro-Trump sad sack over the past few years. The legal gibberish Dershowitz has spewed, in the name of defending Trump, has been mind boggling.

But in the wake of the unsealed search warrant affidavit, even Dershowitz is now admitting that there’s enough in there to indict Trump. Of course Dershowitz is emphasizing how much easier it is to get an indictment than a conviction, and perhaps that’s the fallback position that Trump’s apologists are now aiming for. But the part Dershowitz is leaving out is that the Feds obtain convictions on the vast, vast majority of indictments they bring for a reason: they make the effort to build an overwhelming case before bringing an indictment, in order to secure a conviction once it gets to trial.
