George Papadopoulos just received a light prison sentence by selling Donald Trump out. This comes shortly after Michael Cohen pleaded guilty and named Trump as an unindicted co-conspirator, and Paul Manafort was convicted of eight felonies. While this is going on, Trump is facing an insurrection from within his own White House senior ranks, and he can’t even figure out who’s behind the op-ed in question. Can things get any worse for him this week? They just did.

If you’ve been waiting for the next shoe to drop after Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg was granted immunity, it’s arrived. Weisselberg was technically given immunity in the Michael Cohen case, shortly before Cohen ended up cutting a plea deal. But big fish aren’t given a free pass in order to nail smaller fish, and Weisselberg is a much bigger fish than Cohen. The immunity deal has to be all about the Trump Organization in general, and Donald Trump in particular.

So what’s the next logical step for federal prosecutors? Use the illegal Trump-Cohen payoffs to gut the Trump Organization. Sure enough, that’s what is now in the process of happening. Bloomberg is reporting that unnamed Trump Organization Executives, presumably all of them, are now being investigated to determine which of them were criminally involved in the payoffs. This will have the three-pronged effect of 1) motivating some of those executives to cut deals of their own against Donald Trump, 2) placing criminal scrutiny on Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump, who are Trump Organization Executives, and 3) taking a bulldozer to the hierarchy and stability of the Trump Organization, making it difficult for the company to continue functioning.

One of the key pieces of the puzzle here: Bloomberg says that Allen Weisselberg has already been interviewed by the Attorney General of New York. This means Donald Trump can’t pardon his way out of this, because state level charges are in play alongside federal charges. Weisselberg has been doing the books for decades, and he knows precisely who is guilty of what. The other executives may not know for sure whether Weisselberg has given them up, but they can’t take that chance. Look for additional key Trump Organization people to end up flipping on Donald Trump, as the company implodes.
