Donald Trump waves the white flag
No matter how incoherently disastrous of a rally speech Donald Trump might give, his social media people always find a way to pull a few semi-coherent clips out of the dumpster fire, and post it on Truth Social. It’s like an alternate reality for those who want to pretend that Trump isn’t senile.
Even when Trump gave a speech in the mostly nonwhite Bronx this past week, and the audience was almost entirely white, Trump’s social media people still made a point of focusing in on the handful of Black attendees (while hoping no one would notice that almost everyone in the background was white).
But Trump’s speech today at the Libertarian Convention was a whole different beast. Sure, there was the usual dementia-riddled incoherence. But Trump was roundly booed throughout the speech, and ended up lashing out at the audience for not supporting him.
Accordingly, Trump’s social media people still haven’t posted a single video clip from his speech. That’s because there wasn’t a single moment from the speech that they could possibly post. Every second of it was a boo-filled disaster for him. Trump’s people are clearly waving the white flag on this entire debacle. They can’t even figure out how to try to spin it in his favor.
