Donald Trump’s social media posts aren’t just getting him in trouble in his criminal trial. It turns out his social media attempts at promoting his 2024 faux-campaign are going just as poorly.

A feeble Trump lurched into a Fire Department of New York station after his trial on Thursday, in order to pose for pictures with his firefighter supporters (who should obviously be fired). But the kicker is that when the photos appeared on Truth Social, they incorrectly referred to FDNY as NYFD.

This might not sound like a big deal to out of towners, but this is not something that a New Yorker would ever get wrong. The police department is NYPD, but the fire department is FDNY. As a sign of how much of a screw up this was, Trump ended up deleting all of these posts and reposting them with the correct FDNY.

So Trump is clearly paying no attention to what’s being posted to his own social media account. And come to think of it, he’s probably the one native New Yorker who doesn’t know that its FDNY.
