Donald Trump knows he’s lost

Donald Trump knows he has lost, and he, his campaign team, and his family are putting their worst behavior on display for all the world to see. They have even turned against Trump’s former favorite news channel, Fox. According to the Guardian, Trump’s supporters gathered outside a vote-counting center and began chanting “Fox News Sucks!” They are up in arms because Fox News called Arizona for Joe Biden.

Trump’s team was so riled up that they called Fox, demanding they “overturn” their prediction. The New York times reported that it was Jared Kushner who tried to push Rupert Murdoch while Vanity Fair said “president” Trump himself called Murdoch. How embarrassing, but Trump’s son took that embarrassment to new heights.

HuffPost reported that Eric Trump posted a fake video of someone allegedly burning 80 ballots that had been cast for his father. Eric posted the video on Twitter and was promptly rebuked. The City of Virginia Beach responded: “Those were sample ballots.” They further said that the city had already addressed the issue and included a link to their news site. Not letting it go at that, the city showed a screenshot from the video which clearly showed that there were no bar codes on the ballots. It is shameful that such ignorance permeated the White House for four years. Now, we have something to look forward to: Trump will soon be gone, and he can take his dumb sons — and his boot-licking fake AG — with him.

The New York Times reported that the DOJ announced to federal prosecutors that they would be sending armed federal officers to ballot-counting locations to “investigate voter fraud.” The only fraud involved in the 2020 election was Donald Trump’s declaration that he won. His campaign has filed lawsuits, and the Times defined the DOJ action as “intimidating local election officials” and interfering in vote tallying simply because Trump wants them to stop counting votes.

This is so ludicrous that we already know the outcome of this election, as Trump reeks of desperation. The Massachusetts Attorney General, Maura Healey, said that she will resist such an intrusion, as only state officials have authority over these locations. It is very ironic that the man who pushed down the handling of the pandemic—a job he should have done—to states now wants to interfere in the states’ rights to handle elections. Just as he has always done, he is talking out of both side of his mouth.

Mostly, Trump is embarrassing himself. Two German newspapers — one left-leaning and the other right — had similar headlines that Trump thinks he is an emperor who is trying to force autocratic rule on a country strong on democracy. Unfortunately, his embarrassing behavior is a blight on us as a country. This will be his last time doing so. We all know his motivation: The moment he walks out of the White House, he will be charged criminally. It is coming, Trump, and there is no one more deserving than you.
