Donald Trump is now having an unhinged all caps meltdown about how he “WILL BE ARRESTED” and he claims it’ll happen on Tuesday. Still think he’ll likely turn himself in. But if he wants to create a standoff at Mar-a-Lago and ruin any chance of getting bail, then please proceed!
Remember: Donald Trump is not a reliable source. He lies a lot, he’s partly senile, and he’s insane. Also his lawyers appear to frequently shield him from what’s really going on. So no, we can’t presume that his arrest will be on Tuesday just because he says it is.
But the real story here is that Trump is now talking about the fact that he’s going to be arrested. Two weeks ago most talking heads on both sides were insisting that something like this would “never happen no matter what.” And now even Trump is acknowledging it’s happening.
Trump will do whatever he’ll do this week. It won’t go well for him. His supporters will do whatever they’ll do this week. It won’t go well for them either. Any move Trump makes, he loses. He can only make this even worse for himself. My advice to all of you for this week is to just enjoy the show.
Trump is screwing himself by yelling things like “TAKE OUR NATION BACK” in response to his indictment. This will go over poorly at his arraignment. Could result in harsher bail restrictions or a gag order. He still doesn’t get that this is the criminal justice system.. He’ll figure it out soon enough.
