Donald Trump has complete meltdown after Jack Smith informs him of trial witness list against him
Last night Jack Smith and the DOJ informed Donald Trump of the witnesses and evidence that are expected to be presented against him at trial, as part of the standard discovery process. By court order, Trump is not allowed to publicly reveal any of this, and he knows he’ll face swift punishment if he does.
So far Trump hasn’t revealed anyone on the witness list. Instead he’s revealed just how enraged and scared he is after seeing the witness list. He posted this to social media today: “CONGRESS, PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE POLITICAL WITCH HUNTS AGAINST ME CURRENTLY BEING BROUGHT BY THE CORRUPT DOJ AND FBI, WHO ARE TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL.”
To be clear, there is literally nothing that House Republicans can do to help Trump when it comes to this criminal case. They can hold hearings but no one will care. They can demand that Merrick Garland testify, but he’ll just say that it’s DOJ policy not to comment on ongoing investigations.
The real story here is that Donald Trump is totally panicking over how strong Jack Smith’s case is. If the witness and evidence list were light, Trump would be bragging about how little Smith has on him. Instead Trump is reduced to begging for help from people who can’t help him.
