Donald Trump goes completely off the deep end about his criminal indictment after his lawyers meet with Justice Dept

Donald Trump’s attorneys met with Jack Smith’s team at the Justice Department today, and based on the timing, circumstances, and reported details, this had to be the ‘We’re indicting your client’ meeting. This is it; the indictment will come down within days.

Trump appears to know just how bad of a sign this is. Shortly after the meeting, he exploded on his social media site, yelling “HOW CAN DOJ POSSIBLY CHARGE ME, WHO DID NOTHING WRONG, WHEN NO OTHER PRESIDENT’S WERE CHARGED…” It was about twice that long, but we’ll spare you the rest of the all caps tirade.

In other words, Donald Trump knows darn well what happens from here. Jack Smith will have the DOJ grand jury criminally indict him under the Espionage Act, likely this week. Trump will be arrested again, this time on far more serious charges, and will have a very different kind of arraignment and bail hearing. Getting charged with espionage is not a blow that Trump will bounce back from, and he knows it.
