Donald Trump campaign caught in the act

The Trump campaign is in a bit of hot water. Now why might that be? It’s for not telling the truth. Big shocker. Don’t the Trumpers ever stop lying? The answer to that question is no, they do not. This latest snafu is to be expected from people of their ilk.

The Trump campaign posted a video on social media that was edited in a false and misleading way. The video uses AI to make it look like NBC is disparaging all of the GOP candidates for President — except Trump.

“This is Ron DeSantis. An establishment RINO that wears insoles to look taller.” Fake. “This is Nikki Haley. Nobody really gives a shit about Nikki Haley.” Fake. But the video was edited to make it APPEAR an NBC reporter said these words. Welcome to the new Trump plaything — AI.

Trump Senior Advisor Chris LaCivita shared the video, tweeting, “Now this is reporting.” Only it wasn’t. It was, however fake news. NBC was not amused and demanded the Trump campaign remove the offensive and fake video.

It is not at all surprising that if anyone decided to use AI in a negative way, it would be the Trump campaign. And this will not likely be the last time either. LaCivita did tweet a follow-up saying the following: “To keep @NBC-News Lawyers off my ass, please note…THIS IS A PARODY!” Ah — the truth. Better late than never, I suppose.
