At this point we all wish the DOJ would just get on with it and indict and arrest Matt Gaetz. But amid reports that his associate Joel Greenberg’s sentencing hearing has been delayed so Greenberg can get full credit for the upcoming results of his cooperation, it’s understandable why the DOJ hasn’t yet pulled the indictment trigger on Gaetz; better to make the case so comprehensive that Gaetz doesn’t stand a chance at trial.

At this point even Matt Gaetz seems to understand he’s in trouble. Lately he’s been reduced to whining on a podcast with Marjorie Taylor Greene, the only friend he seems to have left, and doing odd things like documenting himself going fishing. If Gaetz is trying to paint a picture of himself not being worried, he betrayed that when he recently lashed out at Fox News.

Donald Trump’s new spokesperson Liz Harrington tweeted some weird conspiracy theory about Fox News supposedly plotting against Trump. Matt Gaetz then retweeted it, adding “We told you Fox News isn’t what it used to be.” At this point the last thing Gaetz should be doing is attacking a propaganda network that’s on his side.

Then again, ever since Matt Gaetz went on the Tucker Carlson show awhile back and claimed that Carlson and his wife had dinner with Gaetz and a woman who was under federal criminal investigation, and Carlson denied that the dinner ever happened, Gaetz and Fox haven’t exactly been tight. Notably, the woman in question appears to be the ex-girlfriend who has since reportedly agreed to cooperate against Gaetz. Oops.
