Chicken Little
There are so many magnificent colors swirling around in this beautiful world. And for some people and groups, specific colors are mirrors reflecting the thoughts, feelings, and personas of the people in question. Take Democrats. It is no mistake that blue is OUR color, the one associated with the fabric of who the Democratic party is.
We’re a collage of astonishing, cool and refreshing blues, helping people to forget their fears, a glowing blue island filled with people and growing bigger every day. Some just dive right in, eager to be part of our ocean-blue. Others are a bit more cautious and start by simply wading in and testing the waters.
But one thing is certain. Most when they do choose to enter the waters, never leave. The GOP is a fiery red that speaks of anger, disrespect, and rage. But there is another color to Republicans. And that is what I want to speak of. That color is white — the color of the chicken. Republicans are wailing and they’re doing it loudly.
Impeach Joe Biden, they squawk indignantly while saying nothing about the man who would be a jailbird. Donald John Trump. Not only can’t Republicans let him go, but they are trying vainly — so, so utterly vainly — to turn the tables and make it about Biden. Only it can’t be. Because the colors of OUR President are blue — and silver (wisdom) and gold (winning.)
President Biden is a wise owl, as I’ve frequently called him. He is a gentle yet firm night owl, leading our nation to increased productivity, serenity, and beauty. And the GOP CAN’T take that! Their souls are those of chickens, for sure. They are chicken little, multiplied.
Part of why Republicans are doing this has nothing to do with Donald Trump. It has to do with THEM — and their inferiority complexes. You see, we embarrassed them with our competence. We shamed them by creaming them in election after election.
The chickens are angry! And so they’re coming home to roost. However, because they’re such scared little plucky chickens, they can’t see past their cowardice. All this talk of Biden’s impeachment only makes them look more loony. They look like loony chicks, unfettered and wild, running about in a barn and chasing something that could never be.
That something is respectability. The GOP has lost that, firmly, finally, and forever. Could it really be forever? Could they get respectability back? No. Not if they continue the path they are on, supporting the chicken King, the biggest, nastiest chicken of them all.
Donald John Trump. All it will get them is even more shame, more embarrassment. In the meantime, our sapphire waters still shine — open to all dreamers, activists, poets, and every human being who wants the best for America.
