Donald Trump just blew it big

The time has come again to ask the burning question: Why does “president” Trump want to remain in the Oval Office? He has done nothing for the average American, and when he does anything at all, it has nothing whatsoever to do with running the country. Trump’s behavior continues to worsen, and he is now calling for a boycott of Goodyear. Is Goodyear doing something that threatens national security? Are they harming consumers by price gouging? Please. Neither of those things would spring Trump into action. No, he wants to boycott them because employees cannot wear “MAGA Attire” to work. Yes, this is a real story.

According to Trump, Goodyear is now part of the “radical left.” The man is insane. There is no other way to put it. Apparently, a Goodyear employee took a photo of a sign called “Zero Tolerance” and sent it to a television station in Kansas. Allegedly, the terms “Black Lives Matter” and “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride” are acceptable while “Blue Lives Matter,” “All Lives Matter,” “MAGA Attire,” and “Political Affiliated Slogans or Materials” are not. Considering that neither supporting minorities nor having pride are political statements, Goodyear is not violating its own policy. Only a racist homophobe sees politics in these issues and compares them to openly political issues like wearing “MAGA” attire. Not only might MAGA offend some workers, but it can run off customers who want absolutely nothing to do with Trump, his “policies,” or to be reminded that he even exists.

Goodyear responded, saying that this alleged sign did not come from the corporate office and is not part of diversity training; however, Goodyear stands by its ban on political messaging. The corporate office issued a statement relating to their longstanding policies: “Goodyear has zero tolerance for any forms of harassment or discrimination. . . .[W]e ask that associates refrain from workplace expressions in support of political campaigning for any candidate or political party, as well as similar forms of advocacy that fall outside the scope of racial justice and equity issues.” That statement is clear, but the question is: Why is Trump involving himself in things like this?

Donald Trump continues to display his inability to do the job he stole. As Michelle Obama said on Monday night, he is in over his head. Attempting to distract from his woeful incompetence, he fans the flames of hate because it is all he has. Do not think for a minute that Trump really cares about this issue. He and his daughter started a campaign in support of Goya, only because they erroneously thought liberals were boycotting the company. Both Trump and his daughter are clueless, and they need to return to their former lives, as this political thing obviously is not for them.

Politico intimates that Trump is doing this because Goodyear — headquartered in Ohio — is a swing state that employs approximately 63,000. Chances are good that many of those employees are Democrats and independents. Trump’s unnecessary fight is not going to help him, but he is too dumb to know it.
