An update on my health

Dear Palmer Report readers,

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes over the past several days. When I occasionally post updates about my health, it’s only because I want to give you a heads up that I might miss a day of work. But your responses always end up being so heartening, I can only say thank you.

For those who have asked, I have longtime spinal issues that aren’t bad enough to require back surgery, but are bad enough to periodically take me out of action. Is it painful? Yes. It’s often limiting in small ways, and occasionally limiting in larger ways. But most days I can freely walk around. I hear from Palmer Report readers who have far more severe spinal issues than I do, far less mobility, and are in far greater pain. In that sense I consider myself very lucky.

I have an MRI coming up, and my guess is that I’ll probably end up needing to have another radio frequency ablation on my lower back. But for now I’m back to work. Thank you again to everyone who has expressed such well wishes and empathy. In the political realm, empathy can be in short supply. But I always feel like the Palmer Report community has my back.

Much thanks,
Bill Palmer
