Donald Trump unwittingly gives away why he can’t stay awake during his trial
Donald Trump has fallen asleep in the courtroom on at least three different days of his criminal trial, according to the various reporters in the room. It happened on two different jury selection days, and then it happened during opening statements as well.
Trump’s inability to stay awake and pay attention, during a criminal trial that could put him in prison, is a big deal in the cognitive sense. It’s consistent with what you’d expect from a dementia patient who’s fading in and out of cognizance, not from someone who’s trying to run for office.
Now Trump has taken to complaining about how he has to sit in court all day:

That’s right, Trump is complaining about having to sit there. He’s presumably trying to drum up sympathy. But in reality all he’s doing is admitting that the reason he keeps dozing off is that he’s so far gone cognitively, he can’t sit for a few hours at a time without losing focus and dozing off. And this dementia patient thinks he’s somehow going to be viable in an election?
