Jim Jordan melts down

Before Mark Meadows decided to become Donald Trump’s corrupt sidekick, Meadows spent a long time as a House Republican, where he often served as Jim Jordan’s corrupt sidekick. Jordan and Meadows launched many a sham House committee probe, in the name of trying to manufacture phony scandals about the Democrats.

So it’s probably no surprise that, in the wake of Mark Meadows’ criminal indictment in Fulton County, Jim Jordan is going rather berserk. Jordan is now ranting on Twitter about how Meadows supposedly only “asked for a phone number” and how Jenna Ellis only “gave legal advice.” This isn’t what really happened, and the indictment text makes that clear. But Jordan is nonetheless throwing a fit about it.

It’s probably worth noting that at this point, the only thing the likes of Jim Jordan can do is throw a fit. There is nothing that House Republicans can do to magically save Donald Trump from criminal prosecution, or to magically save their pals like Mark Meadows. These people are simply going to prison.
