There is a meltdown of epic proportions going on right now, and it is coming from the GOP. All over social media, the whining is as irritating as buzzing flies as certain GOP members throw themselves into what they do best — complaining.

Assuming the false mask of outrage, many of our non-friends in the GOP are expressing utter and complete outrage over the fact that DirectTV has dropped One America News Network. In reality, I suspect some of them are thrilled. Why do I say that?

Because this move by DirectTV offers an opportunity for republicans to let their one and only talent shine. That talent is screaming into the void — which they do pretty loudly, I must say. So it would seem there is a competition going on over which Republicans can act the most anguished over this bit of (delicious) news.

First, we have professional screamer Jim Jordan, who is currently shrieking about cancel culture and the unfairness of it all. “Who’s next?” Jordan bellowed out about the OANN news. May I address Gym’s question? I vote for that awful light blue shirt to be the next thing canceled. It’s spoiled many of us for the color blue, and I think it’s time Jordan said a proper goodbye to that particular item.

Next, we have Matt Gaetz. Gaetz appears to be quite offended about the dropping of OANN (or maybe he’s just hoping we will talk about anything other than his possible pending arrest.) In any event, Gaetz tweeted this Einstein-like comment: “Bullshit!” What a wordsmith this guy is!

But the absolute best response was from nobody’s favorite Covid denier, Rand Paul. Paul can always be counted on to give us a bit of stupid in our daily lives. So it wasn’t all THAT surprising when Paul tweeted out that as a result of this epic cancellation, Paul was canceling his DirectTV subscription.

Oh no! I imagine the executives over there must be in a cloud of misery at the thought of losing your Subscription, Mr. Paul. The bottom line is this: OANN is a hate machine, most people know it, and it is my hope that they will soon be out of business. In the meantime, the screaming old party continues their indignation, but it appears few are listening.
