Dr. Oz throws a fit as his Senate campaign gets off to a rough start

Mehmet Oz is running for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania. Mr. Oz is also pissed right now. This is because of something that the paper, The Philadelphia Inquirer did. They said they would not refer to him as “Doctor” during his campaign.

No big deal, right? The world’s got way more important things to worry about than a title, right? Well, Mehmet does not seem to think so. Faster than you could say “melt-down,” Oz lost it.

“Why would the Inquirer not want to call me Dr. Oz?” Mr. Oz roared. “Everyone knows I’m doctor Oz, but they don’t think it’s the right thing to do. They think it gives me an unfair advantage.”

Actually, Oz, this is standard operating procedure. And other candidates who are also Doctors seem just fine with the decision. I also hate to break this to him, but the fact is he is not nearly as important as he seems to think he is.

But Mr. Oz thinks the paper is trying to silence him. Oz was not yet ready to stop his ranting.

“The Inquirer hates, hates that I’m empowering you, hates that I’m taking on some of the established folks.” You know what? There is more but does one REALLY want to listen to more of Mr. Oz? As this race plays out, perhaps Oz will think about actually living in the state he is running to represent. Reportedly he makes his home in New Jersey. He is running in Pennsylvania.

He should also stop sulking about the word “Doctor”, and start thinking about the issues. Whether he knows what they are is anyone’s guess.
