This is just another Donald Trump con game
Follow the money: Trump can’t possibly think his election legal challenges will go anywhere – especially with the low rent way he’s approaching it. But as long as he’s still fundraising off his legal challenges, he has to create the appearance that he’s still contesting things.
That’s why Trump probably doesn’t care that his legal challenges consist of Rudy in a manure store parking lot. It’s not about winning; he can’t win anyway. It’s about conning his sucker donors into thinking he’ll win, so they’ll keep lining his pockets.
Once Trump reaches a point where most of his own supporters figure out he’s not magically going to win, and the donations to his election legal fund start to dry up, I’d imagine that’s when he’ll start looking at the possibility of agreeing to go quietly in the hope of softening his criminal exposure.
