Editorial note: Palmer Report is expanding

Three years ago, I started Palmer Report with a few rules in mind that weren’t exactly common in political journalism: analyze the political news of the day and figure out what it really means. Put the day’s news within context of the big picture and chart out where things are headed next. Always tell you where I’m getting my information from. Speak truth to power. Call it like I see it. Here in 2019, it seems to be working. Palmer Report now has millions of readers, and our articles get shared on social media by members of Congress, cable news hosts, and respected public figures. But I’m never one to sit still. Palmer Report is expanding.

As the political landscape continues to get more chaotic and the stakes get higher, it’s all the more important that we expand our reach in order to cover it all. So I’m adding more writers – quite a number of writers, in fact. I’ll handpick them to make sure that not only are they good at what they do, they’re a good fit for what Palmer Report has become and what it stands for. Don’t worry, I’m not personally cutting back one bit. I’ve always served as the primary writer for Palmer Report, and that will continue.

Not everyone initially loves change. I’ve added a few writers over the past year, and despite a bit of pushback from some readers at the start of it, some of those same readers have since told me that they’ve come to enjoy the contributions of the new writers. So I’ll thank you in advance for your open mindedness as our editorial roster grows over the course of the coming weeks.

I already have some fantastic new writers lined up, but we can always use more talented people to help us carry out our mission. If you think you might be a fit to write for Palmer Report, reach out to me at [email protected] and we can talk specifics. If you know someone who might be a good fit, feel free to pass this along to them.

I believe Palmer Report has brought crucial, meaningful change to political journalism and political analysis over these pivotal past few years in American history. Considering the landscape, what we’re doing here is more important than ever. Now we’re going to do it in a much bigger way. Thanks for reading Palmer Report, and for joining us as we take these next steps forward.

Much thanks,
Bill Palmer
