It seems the congressional members most willing to stand up and call Donald Trump out on his shit are the women. They are not afraid of him because they are strong and powerful: Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Dianne Feinstein, Kirsten Gillibrand, Frederica Wilson and Maxine Waters to name a few.

This week, while in Pennsylvania for a campaign rally supposedly held for Republican candidate Rick Saccone, Trump tore into Maxine Waters. He insulted her IQ and told the partisan crowd that “she is obsessed with getting me impeached. Have you seen her? … She wants to impeach me and I haven’t done anything wrong.”

This is not the only time he has tried to publicly insult Waters. He has called her “crazy Maxine” at an earlier rally. What makes this even worse, are the Republican Congressmen and cabinet members applauding his statements or excusing his name-calling as just a joke.

Waters has a long record of addressing social injustice and taking action on unfair policies. She, unlike Trump, tells the truth. She is not afraid to call out people who abuse their positions. She will call a spade a spade with no sugar coating. These are all things that ruffle Trump’s peacock feathers. As I have written before, Trump hates being criticized by anyone, especially women, and women of color.

“I think that he is disrespectful of most people,” Maxine Waters told The Huffington Post last year. “He has no respect for other human beings. He lies, he cannot be trusted, I don’t know what it means to sit down with someone like that who you cannot believe one word that they say once you get up by talking to them. I have no trust and no faith in him whatsoever.” As expected, that comment went over like a fart in church with Donald Trump. Those who lie pathologically are threatened by truth tellers. The war between Waters and Trump will continue on.
