On Wednesday, spineless Q-anon Man Kevin McCarthy issued a statement “attempting” once again to slam Democrats plans to vote to strip Marjorie Taylor Greene of committee assignments as a divisive “power-grab.” https://www.republicanleader.gov/leader-mccarthys-statement-rep-marjorie-taylor-greene/ It was nothing more than “attempt” because as is usual with McCarthy, it blew up in his face.

His caucus just voted by secret ballot to (overwhelmingly) keep Liz Cheney on as the number 3 Republican in the House. A smart person would get a strong signal from this that his caucus is not with him or Greene. McCarthy, however, is too dense to comprehend this and so he just ensured that Marjorie Taylor Greene is effectively on the ballot in every competitive House race in 2022.

I have long been convinced that McCarthy placed Greene on the Education Committee as some sick and twisted way to “stick it to the Dems”. This too has backfired in his face. His endeavor in having her placed on that committee and/or his continued fight to keep her there didn’t “stick it to the Dems.” What it did do is rip open the deep wounds of the many Americans whose loved ones were lost in school shootings; and the many who were present and lived, but who were victims all the same; and, the majority of the rest of us no matter what our party affiliation, who are not part of that small minority of Q-anon conspiracy theorists. If alienating the majority of Americans is McCarthy’s strategy to win, he should save himself the time, pack it up and go home.

Consider it a gift that the Democrats, by having to do your job for you, are only stripping Greene of her committee assignments because in actuality, she should be expelled. And, for the record and to put an end to the ridiculous “divisive” crap, it is Greene’s comments – past and present, her death threats about members of Congress, and her whacked-out lies, that is divisive, it is not the stripping of her committee assignments – just as it is the insurrection at the Capitol that is tearing this country apart, not the efforts made to hold those people accountable for it, including by convicting Donald Trump.
